OpenAI has introduced DALL-E 3, the latest version of its text-to-image tool. This tool, available to ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise customers in October via the API, enables users to request images by typing in prompts and refining them through conversations with ChatGPT.
DALL-E 3 is designed to generate highly detailed and accurate images based on nuanced requests. OpenAI has added safeguards to limit the generation of violent, adult, or hateful content and decline requests for images of public figures by name or in the style of living artists.
Creators can also opt out of having their work used to train future text-to-image tools. However, there are ongoing concerns and legal challenges regarding AI-generated images and copyrighted AI-created works.
