The UAE’s Ministry of Interior (MoI) is offering a chance to reduce negative traffic points on your license. Citizens can engage in the MoI’s accident-free day initiative to remove four traffic points from their record by driving safely on the first day of the new academic year, beginning August 28th.
Negative traffic points are a serious penalty imposed for severe traffic violations. If a driver accumulates 24 negative points, their license can be suspended. This initiative aligns with the ‘A Day Without Accidents’ campaign, a nationwide effort led by the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with local police authorities.
Moreover, Brig. General Hussain Ahmed Al Harthy, the chair of the Federal Traffic Council, emphasized that this initiative serves as both an encouragement and a reminder. It encourages safe driving practices while reminding everyone of the significance of promoting traffic safety and awareness.
How to avail?
To take advantage of this chance, all you need to do is make a pledge on the MoI’s website to drive safely on the first day of school. On that day, ensure you avoid any traffic violations or accidents.
