Now You Can Transfer Your Full Chat History On WhatsApp Securely through QR Code

WhatsApp, the popular messaging application, has introduced a new way to transfer chats from one phone to another. This method is based on QR codes and can be used when both phones have the same operating system.

To transfer chat history, users need a local Wi-Fi connection and both devices should be turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to transfer chats:

1. Open WhatsApp on the old device and go to Settings > Chats > Chat transfer.

2. A QR code will appear on the screen.

3. Use the new phone to scan the QR code. The data is encrypted and transferred only between the two devices over the local network, ensuring better security compared to third-party solutions.

Previously, WhatsApp only allowed data migration through cloud backups, which required the same operating system (iOS or Android). However, the new QR code-based method provides a local transfer option.

It’s important to note that transferring data between iOS and Android devices using WhatsApp is slightly more complicated, although the platform does support such migration.

Earlier this year, WhatsApp also introduced a multi-device feature that allows users to access their chats on multiple devices using a single account.
