Punjab is constructing a Rs. 53 million athletics stadium in Chak 101/15-L, Main Channu, the home village of Olympic javelin champion Arshad Nadeem. About 60% of the project is complete, including the boundary wall, jogging track, and open-air gym, with a turbine installed for water supply.
The seven-acre stadium was initiated following Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s pledge after Nadeem’s Olympic gold, with Rs. 50 million allocated via the Sports Department. Once electricity is connected, grass laying and plantation will begin.
The stadium is expected to be completed by June 2027, providing modern facilities for aspiring athletes.
