For residents of Oman who are qualified to earn a “lifetime” private light vehicle driving license, new regulations have been made public by the Directorate General of Traffic.
On Monday, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) proposed the notion of a lifetime driving permit with restrictions.
A lifetime driving license is available to those with a clean driving record, which have not had a first-category infraction in the three years prior to applying. Additionally, candidates must be free of any medical issues; however, those who wear glasses or corrective lenses are still qualified.
Only until the age of 70 is the lifetime license for private light vehicles valid before it needs to be renewed by the owner.
Procedural steps For nationals of Omani:
- The application form has been filled out.
- Certification of passing the driving exam. two images. Learner’s permit for driving.
Application for a learner’s permit for expatriates:
- Two images. Learner’s permit for driving.
- Submit the transaction to the appropriate officer.
- Data is checked and entered into the computer system by the officer.
- Payment of fees is required before a license is approved and given to the applicant.
Documents Required:
- For Omani citizens, an ID card or passport.
- For foreigners an original and a duplicate of your foreign residence card.
