On-Campus Electric Shuttle Service for Students launched at Karachi University

On-Campus custom-built electric shuttle service has been launched recently for students of Karachi University. The MoU has been signed at the VC Secretariat in April 2021 by Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, the Vice-Chancellor of KU and Muhammad Umer Nouman, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NTS Logistic.

The NTS has provided roofless commuting vans carrying around 6 to 23 passenger seats. It has also been stated that these electric vehicles will increase in number as per the demand. The University of Karachi consist a huge area of land and students always find it difficult to walk around from one department to another due to extensive distance between the departments.

However, this shuttle service will help student to get a facility of on-campus transport where they can easily travel within the campus on electric shuttle. The presence of these EVs will be ensured at all the gates of the campus; moreover, the university has also provided a specific large area space for the electric charging units and parking of electric shuttle.
