Today, the joint session of the parliament has been addressed by Pakistan’s President, Dr Arif Alvi.
Dr. Arif Alvi has summoned both the sessions in the exercise of powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 54 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
However, as per the Article 56’s clause three, it is mandatory for the president to address the Parliament after every general election and the first session parliamentary year to inform the lawmakers of the “causes of its summons”.
Furthermore, Dr. Arif address to the joint sitting of the parliament as it was due since the start of the National Assembly’s parliamentary year on August 14.
However, other parties Boycott the President’s address as only 12 Parliamentarians were Present in National Assembly.
