Over 70,000 Cars Enter Murree in Eid Days

The hill station of Murree has seen a huge rush of tourists during the Eid holidays, with more than 70,000 vehicles entering the area in just a few days. The sharp increase in visitors has led to heavy traffic on major roads, creating challenges for both tourists and local authorities.

To manage the situation, the City Traffic Police have deployed over 270 officers at key locations, especially around busy areas like Mall Road. Their main goal is to control traffic flow and prevent long traffic jams in the crowded hill station.

Officials said that special measures are being taken to deal with illegal parking, which often causes blockages on Murree’s narrow roads. Lifters have been placed at different locations to remove wrongly parked vehicles quickly. Tourists are also being advised to follow parking rules and cooperate with traffic staff to avoid delays.

Authorities have warned that Murree’s roads have limited capacity, and such a large number of vehicles can easily lead to gridlock. Visitors are encouraged to plan their trips carefully and consider alternative timings to avoid peak rush hours.

Despite the heavy traffic, the Eid holidays continue to attract families to Murree, known for its cool weather and scenic views. Officials remain on high alert to ensure safety and smooth movement throughout the festive period.
