In 2024, more than 700,000 Pakistanis decided to move abroad in search of better job prospects, according to the Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment.
Official records indicate that 789,837 individuals left the country to work overseas, a slight decrease from 811,469 in the previous year, 2023.
Abdul Shakoor, Deputy Director at the Bureau of Immigration, pointed out challenges related to obtaining visas for Saudi Arabia, while mentioning that the United Arab Emirates continued to issue visas for skilled professionals.
Furthermore, there is a growing need for skilled workers in the United States and Europe, indicating opportunities for professionals seeking employment abroad.
