Over Half of Passenger Vehicles Sold in China are NEVs in the First Half of April

Retail volume of Chinese domestic new energy vehicles in the first half of April exceeded 260,000 units, a miraculous surge of 32% y-o-y, and making history for surpassing conventional fuel vehicles for the first time, according to data released by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

NEVs are taking center stage in China’s auto sector. At the ongoing Auto China 2024 held in Beijing until May 4th, NEVs on debut take up over 60% among the 118 world premieres.

“Higher quality, and lower costs are driving the global auto sector forward. With more innovations for automation, electrification, and connectivity on the way, global cooperation is critical”, said a London-based auto designer.
