Pakistan’s trade in goods and services with the US for the ten-month fiscal year (202122) recorded a surplus of 54.59% compared to the corresponding period last year.
According to the SBP data, total exports to the US were US$5,616,739 million in July-April (202122), compared to exports of US$4,020,901 million in July-April (202021), a growth of 39.68%.
Meanwhile, in April 2022, exports to the US also increased year-on-year by 35.47%, from US$456.326 million to US$618.214 million.
Also, exports to the US increased 28.91% month-on-month in April 2022, compared to exports of $588.25 billion in March 2022, according to SBP data.
According to the SBP, Pakistan’s exports to all countries also recorded an increase of 27.76% in ten months, from $21.016 billion to $26.852 billion.
On the other hand, imports from the United States were US$2,478,032 million in the period, compared to US$1,990,563 million in the previous year, an increase of 24.48% from July-April (202122).
Meanwhile, imports from the United States in April 2022 also rose 17.96% year-on-year to $250.615 million, from $212,443 million in the previous year.
According to SBP data, imports from the US increased 30.86% month-on-month in April 2022, compared to the import of $278.008 million in March 2021. Total imports increased 38.95%, from $43.036 billion to $59.799 billion.
The trade surplus for the period was $3,138,707 million compared to $2,030,338 million for the same period last year, accounting for 54.59% growth.
