Pakistan Announce Playing XI for 1st Test Against Australia

Shan Masood is leading Pakistan in their ICC World Test Championship series in Perth, beginning on December 14. For this match, Pakistan is making significant changes, giving Test debuts to all-rounder Aamir Jamal and right-arm fast bowler Khurram Shahzad.

Aamir Jamal, who debuted internationally against England a year ago and played in the Asian Games, is set to make his Test debut. Similarly, it will be the first Test appearance for Khurram Shahzad.

After waiting for almost a year, all-rounder Faheem Ashraf is returning to Test cricket, and Sarfaraz Ahmed remains the preferred wicketkeeper over Mohammed Rizwan.

The opening combination of Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique is maintained, with Abdullah Shafique showing good form in the recent ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. Former captain Babar Azam will continue batting at number four. Salman Ali Agha is entrusted with spin duties due to Abrar Ahmed’s injury.

The fast bowling attack will be led by Shaheen Afridi, with support from Faheem Ashraf. The Pakistan playing XI against Australia includes Imam-ul-Haq, Abdullah Shafique, Shan Masood (captain), Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wicketkeeper), Salman Ali Agha, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Aamir Jamal, and Khurram Shahzad.
