PCB has revealed the team for the upcoming T20 International series against Bangladesh. The series will feature three matches, all scheduled to take place at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on May 27, 29, and 31.
The selection of the 16 players is based on their recent performances in the ongoing HBL PSL season, which will finish on May 25. This series will also be the first opportunity for the new head coach, Mike Hesson, to work with the team.
Agha Salman has been chosen to captain Pakistan in this short series. The squad includes several notable players such as Shadab Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Abrar Ahmed, and Faheem Ashraf.
Other players named in the team are Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Irfan, Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, and Naseem Shah.
Originally, Bangladesh was expected to play five T20 matches in Pakistan, beginning in Faisalabad on May 25. However, after discussions between officials from both cricket boards in Dubai, the schedule was shortened to three games, all to be held in Lahore. The exact details of the revised schedule will be shared soon.
This series is important as it gives both teams a chance to prepare and test their squads ahead of future international competitions.
