The Pakistan Army has stepped forward to support people affected by the devastating floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. As a gesture of solidarity, all officers and soldiers have donated one day’s salary. In addition to this, the Army has also sent over 600 tons of food supplies to flood-hit areas.
Relief operations are actively taking place in Swat and Bajaur, two of the worst-affected districts. Army helicopters are being used to drop food items in areas that are cut off due to damaged roads and bridges. Rescue teams are working on the ground to move stranded people to safer places.
Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, has personally instructed Army engineers to speed up the repair of damaged bridges and to build temporary crossings where possible. These efforts aim to restore basic connectivity so that rescue and relief work can continue smoothly.
Along with engineers, K-9 units and specialized rescue teams have also been deployed. The K-9 teams are assisting in search and rescue missions, especially in areas where people are feared trapped under collapsed houses or debris.
The Army’s contribution highlights its commitment to stand with the nation during this difficult time. With continuous support through food supplies, rescue missions, and infrastructure repair, the Pakistan Army is ensuring that affected families receive timely help.
