Pakistan Finally Hosts ICC Event After 29 Years But Plays Only One Game at Home

After 29 years, Pakistan finally had the opportunity to host an ICC tournament, but they ended up playing only one match on home soil. Cricket fans were excited about the event, but their hopes were dampened as Pakistan’s matches were mostly held outside the country.

The highly anticipated clash between Pakistan and India took place in Dubai instead of Pakistan, and the match against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi was completely washed out due to rain, preventing any play. The only game Pakistan played at home was against New Zealand, but unfortunately, they lost that match.

Pakistan’s overall performance in the tournament was disappointing. They suffered defeats against both India and New Zealand, which led to their early exit from the competition. As a result, they failed to qualify for the next Champions Trophy, leaving fans frustrated and disheartened. The team’s poor performances added to the disappointment of having limited home games in a tournament they were hosting.

Despite this setback, the fact that Pakistan hosted an ICC event after nearly three decades was still a major milestone for the country. Cricket lovers now hope for better performances from the team in future tournaments and look forward to seeing more international matches played on home soil.
