Pakistan Has Made Progress by Creating 100,000 Green Employment Opportunities

Pakistan has made strides toward its goal of creating 100,000 green jobs, with the World Bank (WB) agreeing to fund the initiative.

The Ministry of Climate Change has agreed to build 0.1 million green jobs in Pakistan by allowing youth to earn between Rs.800 and Rs.1,000 per day by planting trees in their neighborhoods.

The World Bank has agreed to provide $120 million in financial assistance to Pakistan’s SAPM Malik Amin Aslam in order to start the green jobs program.

Minister added that by entering the program, every young person could earn Rs.20,000 to Rs.30,000 per month, although the process of confirming jobs will take five to six months.
