Pakistan Hockey Team Manager Reportedly Removed from Flight for Smoking

Pakistan hockey team manager Anjum Saeed was reportedly removed from a flight during an international journey after being accused of smoking on board. The incident is said to have taken place during a stopover in Brazil while the national hockey team was returning to Pakistan after an overseas tour.

According to reports, airline staff and security officials took action after receiving a complaint that Saeed had violated airline rules by smoking inside the aircraft. Smoking is strictly banned on all commercial flights, and airlines enforce these rules to ensure passenger safety. Despite repeated requests from members of the Pakistan hockey team, airport authorities reportedly refused to make any exception.

As a result, Anjum Saeed and one player were offloaded from the flight at the stopover. The rest of the team was allowed to continue their journey and later arrived safely in Pakistan. The incident caused inconvenience and drew attention due to the senior position held by Saeed within the team management.

However, Anjum Saeed has denied the allegations. He stated that he was not removed from the flight due to smoking and claimed that he stayed behind in Dubai for work-related reasons. He insisted that the reports circulating in the media were incorrect and misleading.

The Pakistan Hockey Federation has not released a detailed official statement regarding the matter so far. The incident has sparked discussion about discipline and professionalism among team officials while traveling abroad. Many believe that strict adherence to international rules is essential to protect the country’s image.
