Pakistan’s Naval Chief, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, inaugurated the first Maritime Science and Technology Park (PMSTP) in Karachi. This facility is a significant step towards strengthening Pakistan’s economy by fostering collaboration among academia, industries, and the government.
The PMSTP focuses on key areas such as naval technologies, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, renewable ocean energy, seafood processing, shipbuilding, and coastal tourism. Its goal is to support innovation and promote the country’s blue economy.
During the International Defense Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) in Karachi, the navy highlighted the importance of the park in addressing economic challenges. Plans are also underway to expand the PMSTP to other cities, including Islamabad, Lahore, and Gwadar.
