Pakistan Introduces Mobile App for Pilgrims

The Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has unveiled ambitious plans to modernize the Hajj pilgrimage in 2024, benefitting the 90,000 pilgrims from Pakistan. The key innovation involves the introduction of a mobile application designed to assist pilgrims throughout their sacred journey.

Each pilgrim will be provided with a suitcase containing a personalized QR code, which will carry crucial details and serve as a digital guide. This move is expected to enhance the overall experience and streamline the logistical aspects of the pilgrimage.

The cabinet has given its approval to the Hajj policy, with a significant development being the pricing of the Hajj 2024 package at Rs 1,075,000. This pricing strategy aims to make the pilgrimage more cost-effective compared to the previous year, potentially opening up the opportunity for a broader range of individuals to undertake the sacred journey.

In a further effort to alleviate financial burdens, the Ministry is currently engaged in negotiations with airlines to secure relief on airfares for the pilgrims, reflecting a commitment to ensuring that the spiritual journey is both well-organized and financially accessible for all participants. This holistic approach to modernization seeks to leverage technology and collaborative efforts to enhance the overall Hajj experience for the Pakistani pilgrims in 2024.
