According to the United States intelligence report, Pakistan being a developing country is now all set become the 23rd biggest economy of the world by 2040 on the basis of its anticipated GDP- gross domestic products’ rank that is currently at a rank of 39th position.
As per the authors of the report, “Our intent is only to help the policymakers and the citizens to prepare for their possible futures,” noting that they included the input from the diverse groups, from the American students even to African civil society activists.
The reports also highlighted that, “Global economic activities have been tilting toward the Asia during the past 40 years as reflecting its higher rate of the economic growth in a comparison with the rest of the world, like the large population, and also the reduction in grinding poverty, it is a trend that certainly will continue through at least the upcoming years like till 2030 and perhaps through the year 2040.”
