IT (Information technology) export remittances, including telecommunications, computers and information services, hit an all-time high of $2.198 billion from July 2021 to April 2022, up 29% from $1.7 billion in the same fiscal 2020-21.
As per the State Bank of Pakistan data, ICT export remittances increased by 29% to US$249 million in April 2022 compared to US$193 million reported in April 2021 compared to US$260 million in March 2022.
PM Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan offers vast opportunities for investment in the technology sector, and the government intends to increase IT exports from US$1.5 billion to US$15 billion in the coming years.
