In comparison to the same period last year, Pakistan’s goods and services trade with Italy saw a surplus of 38.11 percent in the first four months of fiscal year (2021-22).
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, overall exports to Italy were $327.871 million in July-October (2021-22) compared to $230.179 million in July-October (2020-21), a 42.44 percent increase (SBP).
Meanwhile, according to SBP data, exports to Italy climbed by 20.51 percent year over year, rising from $ 62.312 million in October 2020 to $75.095 million in October 2021. Exports to Italy, on the other hand, decreased by 18.85 percent month over month in October 2021, compared to $92.549 million in September 2021.
Meanwhile, on a year-over-year basis, imports from Italy grew by 36.05 percent, rising from $35.869 million in October 2020 to $48.803 million in October 2021, according to the data.
On a month-over-month basis, imports from Italy increased by 11.17 percent in October 2021, compared to exports of $43.896 million in September 2021. The trade surplus for the period under review was $97.302 million, up from $70.415 million in the same period last year, representing a 38.11 percent increase.
