Pakistan Keeping Talks Alive After US Declares Negotiations Failed: Ishaq Dar

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that diplomatic engagement between the United States and Iran is still ongoing, even though the recent talks in Islamabad ended without an agreement.

He stated that Pakistan will continue to play its role in facilitating dialogue between both sides after their delegations left Islamabad. Dar appreciated both countries for responding positively to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s call for a ceasefire, which helped create space for discussions.

The US delegation was led by JD Vance, while Iran’s team was headed by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. Both sides held long and detailed discussions during the Islamabad Talks, focusing on reducing tensions and exploring possible solutions.

Dar also highlighted the support of Asim Munir, noting that Pakistan’s mediation efforts are aimed at keeping communication open and encouraging peaceful dialogue.

He emphasized that even though no final agreement was reached, the talks were an important step toward building trust between the two sides. Continued engagement, he said, is necessary for finding long-term solutions.

Pakistan aims to maintain its role as a facilitator and support future discussions that can help promote regional peace and stability. Officials believe that ongoing diplomatic efforts can eventually lead to progress, even if immediate results are not achieved.
