Pakistan Long Range Rifle Team grabs a Historic Double Gold Victory

The Pakistan shooting team has achieved a remarkable victory by winning both major team matches during a recent competition in South Africa. What makes this achievement even more special is that they defeated the current world champions — the South African team — on their home ground.

The Pakistani team was made up of Lt Gen Ahsan, Asad Wahid, Obaid Ibrahim, Huzaifa Gill, Junaid Waqas, Lt Col Junaid Ali, and Sep Waleed. They were guided by experienced coaches from South Africa, Hennie Gerber and Julius Hartman, who played a key role in supporting and training the team.

In the Vice President Team Match, which includes shooting from 800m and 900m distances, the Pakistani team scored an impressive 1168 out of 1200 points, securing the gold medal with a 97.3% accuracy rate.

In the Chairman’s Team Cup — the most prestigious event of the competition — the team performed even better. They scored 1174 out of 1200, achieving a 98% accuracy rate and winning another gold medal.

These victories are not only historic but also incredibly meaningful for Pakistan. Winning against the world champions on their own turf, and doing it twice, shows how far the team has come in terms of skill, mental strength, and coordination.

This success reflects the team’s hard work, unity, and commitment to excellence. It is a proud moment for the country and for everyone involved in preparing the shooters.
