Pakistan Navy Conducts Successful Search and Rescue Operation in North Arabian Sea

The Pakistan Navy conducted a successful search and rescue mission in the North Arabian Sea, saving 18 crew members from a distressed merchant vessel facing serious difficulties at sea. The swift and coordinated operation highlighted the Navy’s strong maritime response capabilities and its commitment to safeguarding lives in regional waters.

The rescue mission was led by the naval ship PNS Hunain, which played a central role in locating the vessel, stabilizing the situation, and ensuring the safe evacuation of all onboard personnel. Upon reaching the distressed ship, naval teams immediately provided essential support, including medical assistance to injured or unwell crew members, firefighting measures to control onboard hazards, and organized evacuation procedures to prevent further risk.

The rescued crew members, who belonged to multiple nationalities, were safely transported to Karachi following the operation. There, they were handed over for medical treatment, further care, and arrangements for repatriation to their home countries.

The operation has been widely appreciated for its efficiency and professionalism, demonstrating the Pakistan Navy’s readiness to respond to emergencies in challenging maritime conditions. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also commended the effort, praising the Navy’s dedication to humanitarian service and its vital role in ensuring maritime safety and rapid crisis response in the region.
