Pakistan Pace Trio Now the Leading Wicket Taker of Asia Cup 2023

After their outstanding performance in the Asia Cup 2023, Pakistan’s fast bowling trio of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah have seen a significant improvement in their rankings in the International Cricket Council (ICC) one-day international (ODI) rankings.

Shaheen Shah Afridi has moved up four places to secure the fifth position in the rankings, thanks to his exceptional performance where he took six wickets in two matches during the ongoing tournament. Meanwhile, Haris Rauf has made an impressive jump of 14 spots, reaching the 29th rank, and Naseem Shah has achieved his career-best ranking of 68th, marking a remarkable rise for both pacers.

Their remarkable performance was highlighted in their match against arch-rivals India, where they managed to take all 10 wickets. On the other side, India’s emerging talents Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan have also reached their career-best ratings, showing progress in the ICC ODI batter rankings.

Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 67* against Nepal has pushed him to a career-high rating of 750 points, securing the third position in the ODI batter rankings. Similarly, Ishan Kishan’s excellent 82 against Pakistan has earned him a new career-best rating of 624 points, along with a notable jump of 12 places to the 24th position in the updated list for ODI batters, as reported by the ICC in a press release.
