Pakistan Playing ‘Pivotal Role’ in Ending US-Ir@n W@r, Khawaja Asif

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has stated that Pakistan is playing a “pivotal role” in ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at easing rising tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. He highlighted that Pakistan is actively engaging with key regional and international stakeholders, including countries such as Egypt and Türkiye, to support dialogue and de-escalation.

According to the minister, Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach reflects a noticeable improvement in its global standing, allowing it to contribute more effectively to sensitive geopolitical matters. He noted that the country is positioning itself as a constructive partner in promoting peace and stability, particularly at a time when tensions in the Middle East remain high.

In addition, emerging reports have indicated the possibility that future discussions between the United States and Iran could be hosted in Pakistan. While no official confirmation has been issued so far, such a development—if realized—would mark a significant step in Pakistan’s role as a facilitator of dialogue between rival states.

Khawaja Asif emphasized that diplomacy remains the most viable path forward, warning that further escalation could have serious consequences for regional and global stability. He reiterated that Pakistan will continue to advocate for peaceful solutions, encouraging all parties to engage in meaningful negotiations to avoid conflict.
