Pakistan Qualify For Semi-finals of Asian Squash Championship by Beating India

Pakistan continued their impressive performance at the Asian Team Squash Championship, securing a significant 2-1 victory over India in Dalian, China, to advance to the tournament’s semi-finals.

The victory began with Asim Khan, who delivered a dominant 3-0 win against India’s Rahul Baitha, setting a strong tone for the match. However, India quickly responded as Velavan Senthilkumar secured a 3-0 win over Nasir Iqbal. Pakistan’s coach, Fahim Gul, explained that Iqbal’s lackluster performance was due to illness, which hindered his play.

With the match tied at 1-1, the decisive moment came with Noor Zaman’s outstanding performance. Zaman won 3-0 against Suraj Kumar Chand, ensuring Pakistan’s advancement to the semi-finals. This victory sets up a challenging semi-final clash against Hong Kong, who secured their spot by defeating Iran.

Coach Fahim Gul expressed confidence in Pakistan’s potential for success in the upcoming matches. He highlighted the team’s undefeated streak in Pool C, where they achieved victories against Chinese Taipei (3-0) and South Korea (2-1) on the opening day, followed by a convincing 3-0 win over China.
