Pakistan ranked 140/180 countries in Transparency International recently shared Corruption Perceptions Index. An yearly index that ranks countries on the basis of perceptions of public sector corruption.
On a rank of 0-100, with zero being ‘Highly Corrupt’ and 100 as ‘Very Clean’, the South Asian country’s corruption score stands at 28 — one point lower than previous year.
Transparency International shared a statement, “Corruption Perceptions Index shows that most countries are failing to stop corruption. More than 150 nations have made no significant progress against corruption or have declined in last decade.”
Further stated, in the last 10 years the global average remain same and more than 2/3 of the nation scored less than 50 while 26 countries have fallen to their lowest scores yet.
