Pakistan Records Highest Powerplay Score of 55/1 Against India in T20Is During Asia Cup 2025

Pakistan created history in T20I cricket by registering their highest-ever powerplay score against India during the Asia Cup 2025 clash at the Dubai International Stadium. The team managed to score 55 runs in the first six overs, setting a new milestone.

The opening partnership gave Pakistan a strong start. Sahibzada Farhan played a key role, scoring 29 runs, while Fakhar Zaman added 15 runs and Saim Ayub chipped in with 9 runs.

Together, the trio hit nine boundaries and displayed aggressive intent. Their sharp running between the wickets, along with quick singles and doubles, kept the scoreboard moving at a brisk pace.

With a strike rate of 143.24 and a run rate of 9.16, Pakistan dominated the early phase of the innings, putting India under pressure right from the start. The effort highlighted the team’s new batting approach, focusing on attacking strokes as well as smart running.

This achievement broke Pakistan’s previous record of 54 runs against India in 2012, showing their improvement in powerplay performance over the years. For context, India still holds the best-ever powerplay score in Dubai, having reached 62 runs in 2022.

Cricket experts believe this performance will boost Pakistan’s confidence in high-pressure games, especially in matches against their arch-rivals. Fans in the stadium and across the world celebrated the record-breaking effort, considering it a memorable moment in the long-standing Pakistan-India cricket rivalry.

With this new milestone, Pakistan has once again proved its strength in T20 cricket, especially during the crucial first six overs.
