Pakistan decided to bat first after winning the coin toss in the third and final ODI against Afghanistan in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on Saturday. They aimed for a score of 269 runs.
Pakistan managed to score 268-8 in 50 overs. Mohammad Rizwan (67) and Babar Azam (60) both scored fifty runs. Azam and Rizwan together scored 110 runs in 145 balls. Later in the innings, Mohammad Nawaz (30 off 25) and Agha Salman (38 not out in 31) added 61 runs in 47 balls for the seventh wicket.
Gulbadin Naib and Fareed Ahmad took two wickets each for Afghanistan. Pakistan has already won two matches, leading 2-0 in the series.If Pakistan wins today’s match, they will become the top team in the ICC ODI Rankings.
Pakistan made four changes to their team, replacing Usama Mir, Iftikhar Ahmed, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf with Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, and Mohammad Wasim Jr.Afghanistan also made two changes, with Gulbadin Naib and Fareed Ahmad replacing Abdul Rahman and Ikram Alikhil.
