The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has stopped all flight operations at some of the country’s main airports. These include airports in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, and Sialkot. The decision was made with immediate effect and will continue until further notice.
This suspension was officially shared through a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), which is used to inform all airlines and pilots about changes in flight plans or airspace use. As a result, several incoming flights to Lahore from international cities like Jeddah, Dubai, Muscat, Sharjah, and Madinah have been diverted to Karachi.
In an extra step for safety, Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport and Sialkot Airport have been completely evacuated. Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport has also paused all flight activities for the time being.
No one knows how long the suspension will last, and people with upcoming flights are being advised to stay in touch with their airlines for updates. Passengers who were waiting to travel have been asked to leave the terminals, and flights have been either delayed or cancelled.
The PAA has not given a specific reason for the sudden shutdown, but the situation appears to be related to increased security concerns. Authorities are keeping a close watch and are expected to make further announcements soon.
Travelers are urged to remain calm and avoid spreading rumors. This is a developing situation, and official updates will be provided as more information becomes available. For now, all domestic and international flights at the mentioned airports remain suspended.
