Transworld has announced an expansion of SEA-ME-WE 6 to its submarine cable portfolio, which will be operational in Q1 2025.
The Southeast Asia-Middle East-Western Europe 6 (SEA-ME-WE 6) underwater cable system runs 19,200 kilometres between Singapore and France, connecting Pakistan with a number of nations.
SEA-ME-WE 6 will have one of the lowest latencies between Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Western Europe, with a transfer rate of over 100 Tbps, or the equivalent of 40,000 high-definition films per second.
Trans World Associates, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company, Bharti Airtel Ltd. (India), Dhiraagu (Maldives), Djibouti Telecom, Mobily (Saudi Arabia), Orange (France), Singtel (Singapore), Sri Lanka Telecom, Telecom Egypt, Telekom Malaysia, and Telin are among the members of the SEA-ME-WE 6 consortium (Indonesia).

Through trans-new Egypt’s geo diverse crossings and landing places, SEA-ME-WE 6 adds a layer of diversity and resilience to the high traffic density route between Asia and Europe, improving each consortium partner’s total network.
Because of the increased flexibility, the consortium’s service providers may quickly scale capacity, safeguard traffic from failures, and minimise the total cost of network ownership.
