In a historic first, tourists will fly to New Delhi on a special flight operated by Pakistan’s national flag carrier, despite a trade and travel standstill between the two countries.
In the same way that Indian visitors arrived in Pakistan earlier this month, Pakistani tourists will fly to India for the first time since partition on January 29.
According to media reports, the Pakistan High Commission sent a proposal to India’s external affairs office on behalf of PHC chief Ramesh Vankwani, requesting that PIA chartered planes land in India as religious tourism between the two countries grows.
Meanwhile, Indian aviation officials said that the airline has not yet made a request, implying that the proposal will require political support on both sides.
Positive response always shows from Pakistan…good
