Huzaifah Farid, a Pakistani journalist and strategic analyst, revealed via his Twitter that the Malaysia and Pakistan are close to signing a JF-17 deal.
He wrote, “Pakistan’s third-generation JF-17 Thunder contract with Malaysia is on the way,” with a photo of the PAC China JF 17.
According to recent sources from earlier in 2021, the Pakistani JF-17 Block III is under consideration along with South Korean jet. The Malaysian government is yet to make their purchase decision of the aircraft.
As per the Korean news cources, Malaysian officials have acknowledged that the Pakistani jet is competing for the demand alongside its South Korean equivalent.
According to the EurAsian Times, the China-Pakistani JF-17 fighter, as well as the Korean FA-50, are among the top contenders.
Pakistan received praise for its engineering of the respective jet. It also delivered the same jets to Argentinian air force.
