Pakistan to Sell Old Consulate Building in US to Avoid Hefty Taxes Amid Economic Crisis

The government of Pakistan has decided to auction one of the Pakistan Embassy building in Washington, US.

According to the report, new instructions has been issued to the Pakistani embassy in US to auction off the long-vacted building which worth around 1 billion in Pakistani currency.

The building is situated at a prime location in the center of the country and evacuated approximately 15 years ago.

In the starting of the month, Marium Aurangzeb Federal Information Minister informed that the approval has been given by the federal cabinet for the auction of 2 buildings owned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif headed the huddle and took the decision.

The leader of PML-N disclosed that the government of Pakistan had to pay off $1.3 million in tax if the vacant building are not aucted timely.
