Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed confidence in the potential impact of implementing the Pakistan-GCC Free Trade Agreement on enhancing the current bilateral trade volume of $1 billion between Pakistan and Bahrain.
He shared this optimistic outlook during a meeting with General Sheikh Mohammad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, who holds a prominent position in Bahrain.
In extending a warm welcome to General Sheikh Mohammad in Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif also conveyed appreciation for Bahrain’s leadership, acknowledging their congratulatory messages on his recent re-election.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif underscored the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and Bahrain. He emphasized the robust defense cooperation between the two nations, anticipating that General Sheikh Mohammad’s visit would further fortify these relations.
Prime Minister Sharif made reference to the ongoing construction of the King Hamad Nursing Hospital in Islamabad. This project holds significance as it symbolizes the mutual cooperation between Pakistan and Bahrain in the healthcare sector.
He also recalled the previous visit of His Majesty to Pakistan in 2014, expressing Pakistan’s keen anticipation for hosting the King of Bahrain once again in the near future.
Prime Minister Sharif’s remarks highlight the depth of the diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between Pakistan and Bahrain.
