Pakistan Will Export Halal Meat To China

The Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) has encouraged Pakistan’s government to increase halal meat exports to China.

PCJCCI President SM Naveed told the chamber’s export promotion committee that there was a large gap in the global meat trade that needed to be filled and that Pakistan had the ability to boost its exports and earn foreign cash by promoting its high-quality meat globally.

He said that Pakistan has the world’s fourth-largest livestock population, with 180 million animals rising at a rate of 4.2 percent per year, but that its exports were underperforming due to a lack of modern procedures and competent labor.

The PCJCCI chief advocated for enlisting Chinese assistance in obtaining training, improving skills, and using contemporary procedures in accordance with international norms. He claimed that exporting meat to China may bring in millions of dollars to the country’s economy.

He stated that Pakistan’s government is already in talks with China’s government about allowing beef imports from Pakistan.
