Pakistan will host the first international online youth scrabble championship in the world, which starts on 22 January.
A total of 96 players from 16 countries will compete against each other in the online tournament, and Pakistan has been chosen as the host of the event by the World English Scrabble Players Association (Wespa), the World Scrabble Regulatory Body.
Owing to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic around the world, the championship is being played online for the first time.
All championship players are under the age of 18 and the game will be played in a team format, with each team consisting of six players.
