Pakistan Wins the Match Against Sri Lanka in World Cup

Mohammad Rizwan and Abdullah Shafique played exceptionally, scoring centuries as Pakistan secured a convincing 6-wicket victory against Sri Lanka.

Kusal Mendis and Sadeera Samarawickrama also performed brilliantly, helping Sri Lanka post a challenging total of 344/9 against a struggling Pakistan bowling attack during their World Cup match in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Hasan Ali was the standout bowler for Pakistan, taking 4 wickets, but Mendis and Samarawickrama gave Pakistan’s highly-regarded pace bowlers a tough time.

Pakistan had previously defeated the Netherlands by a margin of 81 runs in their first game of the tournament at the same venue. As a result, they currently hold the third position in the points table, with a Net Run Rate of +1.620.

Meanwhile, in other World Cup action, New Zealand secured their second consecutive victory in the competition by defeating the Netherlands, following their upset win over the defending champions in the opening match. New Zealand is currently at the top of the points table.
