Sadiq Khan has re-elected recently as a London Mayor; however, it had been widely expected and this gives the joy to the opposition like Labour Party which has already suffered a series of many disappointing results as in the other local elections.
Khan also became the very first Muslim who headed a major Western capital right after his victory in the year 2016. He faces main challenger like Shaun Bailey, the candidate who was from the Conservative Party of Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Khan won by 55.2% against Bailey who got 44.8% in the result which had been already predicted, although the winning margin of Khan was smaller than his previous victory that held about five years back.
Sadir Khan stated that, “I am deeply humbled by the trust Londoners have placed in me as to continue the leading as well as the greatest city on earth.”
Moreover, he further added that he promise to strain every sinew in order to help everyone to build a better as well as a brighter future for the city of London after the dark days that are due to the pandemic of Coronavirus.
