Haider Ali paints a pair of sparkling white sneakers with the colourful glob of paint for his carnival of colour praising Pakistani culture.
Pakistan’s Trucks are best known for “truck art” that includes candy-coloured artwork portraying celebrities, South Asian animals, and religious symbols.
Highways and cities are transformed into a colourful procession for the culture. And so now veteran truck artist Haidar Ali has applied his artwork on sneakers.
Haidar Ali said, “A customer came to me from the US requesting me to paint shoes, and I told him a huge amount for doing artwork on shoes to discourage him, but he accepted that amount, so I decided to do it for him.”
He spends up to four days on each pair and charges selected customers $400 for a pair that features customized themes and patterns.
