Pakistanis Import Mobile Phones Worth Rs. 113.9 Billion in 7 Months

Pakistan’s mobile phone imports have increased strongly during the first seven months of the fiscal year 2025-26. From July to January, the country imported mobile phones worth 1.139 billion dollars.

This shows an increase of more than 31 percent compared to the same period last year, when imports were recorded at 867.7 million dollars.

In local currency, the total value of these imports reached Rs. 321.1 billion. This reflects a growth of around 33 percent compared to the previous year.

The rise in imports shows higher demand for mobile phones in the country, as well as increased market activity in the technology sector.

The month of January 2026 alone saw imports worth 179.38 million dollars. This figure shows growth not only compared to the previous month but also compared to January of the previous year. The steady rise indicates that consumer demand for smartphones and other mobile devices remains strong.

However, the trend was different in the last fiscal year. During FY2024-25, total mobile phone imports declined to 1.494 billion dollars. This decrease was mainly linked to import restrictions and economic challenges faced by the country at that time.

The latest figures suggest a recovery in imports as economic conditions improve and restrictions ease. Analysts believe that the growing demand for smartphones, along with expanding digital services and internet use, is contributing to this upward trend in mobile phone imports across Pakistan.
