Ericsson, which is the world’s largest telecommunications business is investing a total of $31 million worth of investment into the Pakistani arena exemplifies how concerted attempts to bring foreign investment to Pakistan have obviously been bearing fruit.
Syed Amin-ul-Haq, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information Technological and Telecommunications, said in a statement released that Ericsson would use the funding to construct an offshore operations centre, technology training, and 5G R&D in Pakistan.
Mr. Nelson reaffirmed his company’s commitment to providing the greatest technology to Pakistan and advancing the country’s digital agenda throughout the discussion.
The minister assured foreign investors of all kinds of support and facilities, saying that IT and telecoms are two industries with a lot of room for international investment.
The minister believes that Ericsson’s investment will result in a large number of job opportunities and will help the country implement 5G services. Direct foreign investment, according to Amin, is a demonstration of international organizations’ trust in Pakistan.
Amin Ul Haque and Ekow Nelson, Chairperson of Ericsson Pakistan at Ericsson Middle East and Africa, met recently to discuss digitalization, skill development, and engineering training in line with Digital Pakistan’s mission.
