Pakistan’s biggest private LPG producer, Jamshoro Joint Ventures Limited (JJVL), has restarted its operations after being closed for almost five and a half years. On Thursday, the company sent out its first shipment of LPG, marking an important moment for both JJVL and the country’s overall LPG supply chain.
The reopening is a major development because JJVL plays an important role in meeting Pakistan’s energy needs. The company operates modern and highly efficient plants in Jamshoro, Sindh. These facilities use advanced Ortloff technology, which helps achieve high propane recovery rates and supports international operational standards.
The plants were originally designed and set up by Exterran, a well-known engineering company based in Houston, USA. Exterran is also responsible for running the day-to-day operations, ensuring that the system works safely and efficiently.
This revival of JJVL comes after Sui Southern Gas Company approved a key agreement with the company for LPG and Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) extraction. With JJVL back in action, Pakistan’s LPG production capacity is expected to improve, helping stabilise supply and reduce pressure on the energy sector.
