The mango production in Pakistan is mostly expected to lower by nearly 50% this year as an outcome of unbelievably and extraordinarily high temperatures and the shortage of water, as per the head of a growers’ and exporters’ corporation.
This month, Pakistan observed an irresistible heat wave, with the weather in the south increasing to 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit). As per the government’s Climate Change Ministry, the country skipped the season of spring, moving on directly to summer from winter.
According to the scientists’ observations, over a billion people are in danger due to this heatwave in the area, and they attribute climate change to the very quick arrival of a hot summer.
“There has been a significant effect of this heatwave on the harvest due to the temperature of March, which was 28, 29 degrees Celsius-and then it quickly increased to 42,” according to Waheed Ahmed, the president of the Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters, Importers, and Merchants organisation.
