Pakistan’s Meat Exports Hit 512 Million Dollars Amid High Demand

Pakistan’s meat and meat products exports reached a new high, hitting $512 million, marking a 20% increase from $426 million the previous year. This growth was driven by a significant 24% increase in the volume of exports, totaling 123,515 tonnes.

The surge in exports highlights strong international demand for Pakistani meat, which has been made more competitive on the global market due to the substantial devaluation of the Pakistani rupee.

Despite the overall growth, the average global price for meat decreased by 3%, dropping to $4.1 per kilogram. This decline in prices was partly due to lower export values to the UAE, although prices remained steady in other regions.

The success in meat exports demonstrates Pakistan’s potential to expand its agricultural and food product markets internationally, even as the country navigates economic challenges.

This performance is particularly notable given the global fluctuations in food prices and the competitive landscape of the international meat market. The continued increase in export volume suggests that Pakistan’s meat industry is well-positioned to capitalize on growing global demand, particularly in markets where Pakistani products are known for their quality and affordability.
