Pakistan’s Qari Abdul Rasheed brought pride to the nation by securing third place in the country’s first-ever international Quran recitation competition. The historic event attracted talented reciters from 37 countries around the world.
Malaysia’s Qari Aiman Rizwan bin Muhammad Ramlan won first place, followed by Iran’s Qari Adnan in second place and Pakistan’s Qari Abdul Rasheed in third place. The competition showcased the beautiful art of Quranic recitation on a prestigious global platform.
The grand ceremony was held at Islamabad’s Convention Centre and began with a soulful recitation by renowned Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali. Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousaf welcomed the international participants and expressed his happiness at hosting Qaris from across the Muslim world.
The winners received generous financial rewards for their exceptional talent and dedication. First place received Rs 5 million, second place got Rs 3 million, and third place was awarded Rs 2 million. An Afghan participant secured fourth position, while representatives from Indonesia and Morocco claimed fifth and sixth places, respectively.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar emphasized that the competition reflected Pakistan’s commitment to promoting unity within the Muslim Ummah. He highlighted the importance of connecting youth with the Holy Quran and noted that the sacred book promotes peace, justice, and harmony among people.
He also stated that organizing this international competition demonstrates Pakistan’s dedication to Islamic values and its role in bringing Muslim nations together.
Both Ishaq Dar and Minister Sardar Yousaf personally presented the awards to the winners, marking a successful conclusion to Pakistan’s inaugural international Quran recitation event.
The competition not only celebrated excellence in Quranic recitation but also strengthened bonds among Muslim countries through shared faith and culture.
