Pakistan’s Shahzaib Khan Secures Gold Medal at Asia Open Khyurogi Taekwondo Championship

Pakistan’s Shahzaib Khan won the gold medal in the -54 kg category at the Asia Open Khyurogi Taekwondo Championship held in Indonesia. Despite facing a tough start and losing the first round 11-6, Shahzaib made a remarkable comeback. He won the second round decisively with a score of 10-3 and completely dominated the third round, winning 18-0.

To reach the finals, Shahzaib defeated Indonesia’s Hidayat Tomakaka in the semifinals. The match was intense, with Shahzaib winning the first round 12-14, then bouncing back to take the second round 16-14. He finished strong in the final round with a score of 22-0.

Shahzaib’s outstanding performance earned him praise from officials at the Pakistan Olympic Association, who recognized this victory as the country’s first gold medal in this championship event.

Before this achievement, Shahzaib also secured a silver medal at the 33rd Fajr Open held in Tehran, Iran. His dedication and skill in taekwondo continue to bring recognition to Pakistan on the international stage, inspiring many young athletes in the sport.
