Pakistan’s Syed Mohammad Clinches Gold Medal in Wushu

Syed Mohammad from Pakistan won a gold medal in Wushu at the Peace and Friendship games happening in Zehedan, Iran. He was in the 60kg category and beat his Iranian opponent in the final to become the top player.

Pakistan got three medals in total in this event. Jaffer Ali, Ahsan Ullah, and Mir Wais got silver medals in the 56kg, 65kg, and 75kg categories.

Even though three Pakistani players lost to Iranian players in the finals, Mohammad’s great performance got them a gold medal. Overall, Iran is leading in Wushu, and Pakistan is in second place. Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Iraq are in third, fourth, and fifth places.

It’s interesting to know that a four-person team from Pakistan will compete in Wushu in the upcoming Asian Games in Hangzhou. This is happening from September 23 to October 9.

The team includes Abdul Khaliq (from WAPDA, in the -60kg category), Abdul Rehman (from Punjab, in the -65kg category), Miss Samreen (from Punjab, in the -52kg category), and Miss Maira (who won a silver medal in the 2019 South Asian Games, from Punjab, in the -60kg category).
